Laura J Hoover

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Laura began her career at Legal Aid by representing low-income families in Detroit, Michigan. For two years, Laura aided Wayne County residents who were in need of legal help. In addition, Laura worked with The Elder Law & Advocacy Center assisting the elderly population of Detroit, Michigan by providing estate planning, foreclosure and civil defense services. From 2008 - 2009 Laura served on the Board of Directors for the Free Legal Aid Clinic, Inc. While in Michigan, Laura gained experience in the practice of law by expanding into appellate practice. In 2009 Laura became licensed in Illinois and began working at a small firm in Chicago. In 2011 Laura began her own law practice representing renter's in Chicago against landlord's that have violated their rights.


EDUCATION

Laura graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Detroit Mercy with a B.A. in Political Science, a B.A. in Psychology and a certificate in Legal Studies. Laura attended Wayne State University Law School and was awarded her Juris Doctor.

Laura is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association and is licensed to practice in federal court of the U.S. Northern District of Illinois.
